This early house on the frontier of Virginia was the home of Johann Heinrich Clausser and his wife Anna Marie. In a 1764 indian attack Heinrich and his eldest sons were killed, his wife and daughters taken. Only his youngest child Henry was left behind. But the family survived, the daughters miraculously returned home and the family continued to live in the house well into the 1900's.

Efforts to save the Clowser House for future generations are nearing a successful conclusion, but funds are necessary to meet current and future expenses.
